Layne Lewis is from Fayetteville, North Carolina.  She graduated from Cape Fear High School in 2020, and was a part of their marching band for six years.  After graduating, she continues to work with the students in Cape Fear's front ensemble. 

As a means to become more educated in the marching arts, she joined the Jersey Surf World Class Drum Corps' front ensemble in the summer of 2023.  In the following fall, she began studying Music Education at UNCP, and continues to study here. 

When she graduates, she plans to teach middle school band, and to continue teachings many front ensembles as she can.  

Simply put by the Jersey Surf,  she wants to  "Share the Love".
